I hope you are all springing into action, as March arrives, so do the daffodils and the cherry blossoms. I love this time of year as it is full of colour.

Which I know you know I love.

March 8th is International Women’s Day.

As we know everyday should be International Women’s Day. So here is my exciting list of what I am doing to celebrate. Please come and see these shows

 

 

My work has been chosen to go on display at PWC in Tooley Street head office, SE1 from 7th March 2023.

This self-portrait was chosen to represent diversity.

* I do not know if this is open to the general public.

Then I am celebrating in a group show with 15 members of South London Women Artists, where we are displaying the female icon, whilst creating new ones:

Private View: March 9th, 6-8pm, Brixton Library

Featuring the Deptford Wives band.

Brixton Library is in the heart of Brixton, on Windrush Square. The side entrance in Rushcroft Road has an automatic door and ramp for wheelchair access. Lift access available from ground floor and first floor.

Open from the 3 - 27 March 2023 opening times are the same as the Library.

 

Draw with me

‘Uplifting Female Artists’a day at art’otel Battersea

On the 15 March you’ll find me at art’otel Battersea Power Station with other South London Women Artists. The event includes meeting the artists, draw along and free networking.

As part of the event, I am running a Dynamic Drawing Workshop from 11am-1pm. Join the class and you will learn how to use your own body to draw, create movement and grow your skills and mark making. The class is suitable for all levels!

On the 16 March you can find me at the Colour Walk in Spitalfields Market

from 1 - 2pm - Old Spitalfields Market, 16 Horner Square, London E1 6EW

The walks take place every 3rd Thursday in the month

‘How Do I Make You Feel?’Solo Art Exhibition by Michelle Baharier

 

 

I have been working since last year on work for my solo show

‘How do I make you feel?’

Maya Angelou said: “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”My exhibition explores this narrative. In the paintings in my exhibition, I invite the viewer to gaze at brilliantly coloured faces, encouraging reflection on their own emotional state. My art addresses the many barriers that myself and others face, some due to disability discrimination and prejudice. My powerful paintings are vibrant, with an emotional charge, that encourage the viewer to have a dialogue with the images.

Come and see all the portraits of the people and creatures I have painted. Above is a painting of my friend Gloria.

 

 

It is also my sixtieth birthday, so come and celebrate with me! I see this show as a real milestone in my development as an artist with pieces in it created from 2012 to now.
