Dear Followers,

Thank you to everyone who attended my exhibition at Nolia’s Art Gallery; the turnout was fantastic. For anyone who missed the event, FlexibleFilms made a beautifully edited video of the night on YouTube.

My Latest Events

  • On Saturday 4 June, I am at Camberwell Arts Festival, where I have a stall selling cards, tea-towels, cushions, prints, and some paintings.

To get to Camberwell green, use the buses (68, 468, 171, 185, 40, 45, 34, 345, 176, 40, 42, 488) or by Denmark Hill station (Rail, Overground). You are welcome to pre-order items as I print very small quantities. Please see the selection at the end of the newsletter.

  • On 27-30 July, I am running a workshop at Turf Projects in Croydon all about the good of Croydon. Having grown up in Croydon, I don’t see it as ‘one of England’s worst towns.’ I have fond memories of the shopping centre when it was built, the Whitgift Centre. The Museum of Croydon proudly proclaims: “When The Whitgift Centre was first imagined, the idea of a shopping centre was new and unnamed!”

Turf is an artist-led project space and registered charity in Croydon, South London, founded and run by people with significant personal connections to the borough. They support artists and locals to enjoy and create art via free exhibitions, workshops, and affordable studios. They also host two collectives: MOSS & Art Press, a support programme for local students, family & schools workshops & more. With thanks to Arts Council England.

  • From now until end of August, I am also housed at the House of Annetta (a 4 minute walk from Old Spitalfields Market) for a residency. Please do arrange a time with me to come by as it’s a very interesting place. At the end of my residency, I will have an event to celebrate my work made whilst there.

Colours of My Mind

Thank you to everybody who came along to my show at Nolia’s Gallery. It was a fantastic event and amazing to see my paintings done over the last two years all hung in one place. I was pleased that so many of the prints and paintings sold and have now found new homes. If you want to share any of my artworks on display, please reply to this email with an attached image, or you can post a photo on Instagram with #MichelleBaharierArt and tag me @BaharierMichelle.

I know some people were considering renting a painting; please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Olympia

From Nolia’s Gallery, I was quickly swept up and taken to Olympia where my work has been on show in a VIP lounge. Thank you to Simon Berger from im2group.com, who spotted me on LinkedIn. The event was called The Watercooler, which is all about people standing by the watercooler and actually learning and talking about their mental health.

My paintings got to the heart of this matter. The conference showcased ways in which companies can better support the mental health of their staff with a focus on small to medium enterprises, which is something I know a lot about after setting up and running a charity for 25 years.

Whilst there I met the acting editor of The Evening Standard. Here I am with Charlotte Ross, the Editor of The Evening Standard, who sponsored the event alongside my painting, ‘just one more selfie'.

My Catalogue

If you can’t make it to the Camberwell Market, DM me directly on social media (links below) or via my email mbfcsra@gmail.com to purchase. From mid-June, my art will also be available for purchase on art-rabble.org.

I have a collection of limited edition works that you can buy as prints, including a number of my professionally scanned paintings. The A3 editions are limited to 500.

The prints are all: Giclee on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag which is 100% cotton. The paper is superior in both strength and durability compared to wood pulp-based paper. Each print comes with an archival backing board.

There are a number of other products that I make, such as greeting cards in A5 at £3.50 each and 5x7 at £3.00. Home textiles are available too with tea towels at £15, suede faux cushions from £15 upwards, and aprons at £20.00. All items are subject to postage and packing charges.
